IPRPA Working Committee Meeting 2014

The IPRPA Working Committee Meeting 2014 was held at the Customs Headquarters Building on 24 October 2014.

Head of Intellectual Property Investigation Bureau cum Coordinator of the Management Board, Mr. Lee Hon Wah, welcomed the members and briefed the agenda of the meeting. Mr. Lee also introduced the operation of the Electronic Recordation and Triage Centre (ERTC) which was newly established in April this year for facilitating the cooperation with IPR owners.

Thereafter, Assistant Superintendent Mr. Fok Yui Keung reported the membership registration situation and reviewed the recent activities of IPRPA and YAS in 2013 and 2014, including two seminars, “Algorithmic Justice for Trademark Law Is Coming and Safe Harbour Provisions Are Going” in March 2014 and “ ‘IP Insight’ – Kick Start” in May 2014; the “I Pledge‧YAS Ambassador of the Year 2013 Award Presentation Ceremony cum Drama Performance” in December 2013, “Exchange Activities Between Secondary School Students in Hong Kong and Guangdong Province” in April 2014, “Youth Ambassadors Short Video Workshop 2014” in April 2014, “Youth Ambassadors Short Video Workshop 2014” in April 2014, “Youth Ambassadors Photography Workshop 2014” in April 2014, “ ‘Ambition ‧ Fantasy’ Film Show” in April 2014, “2014 Piracy & Malware Liberal Studies IES Competition” in April 2014, “Youth Ambassadors Short Video Shooting Tour 2014” in July 2014 and “Youth Ambassadors Visited Customs and Excise Training School” in August 2014.

Mr. Fok also reported the finance situation and expenditure budget after establishment of IPRPA Limited. He also introduced to the members of the forthcoming activities including “Drama Competition cum Workshops” and “YAS Ambassador of the Year 2014 Award Presentation Ceremony”. Last but not least, considering the current financial situation of IPRPA, members actively discussed the upcoming IPRPA activities.
