IPRPA Annual General Meeting 2014

The IPRPA Annual General Meeting 2014, chaired by Mr. Albert Ho, Assistant Commissioner (Intelligence and Investigation), was held at the Customs Headquarters Building on 9 December 2014. A total of 29 representatives from 25 IPRPA member organizations attended the Meeting.

In the Meeting, Assistant Commissioner Ms. Leah Wan reported the membership registration situation and the financial situation of IPRPA Limited. The chairmen Mr. Albert S K Ho reviewed the Customs enforcement result in 2014 and the recent IP crime trend. He also recapitulated IPRPA and Youth Ambassador Scheme (YAS) activities held in 2014, including three seminars, “Algorithmic Justice for Trademark Law Is Coming and Safe Harbour Provisions Are Going” in March 2014; “ ‘IP Insight’ Series held in May and Nov 2014; the “I Pledge‧YAS Ambassador of the Year 2013 Award Presentation Ceremony cum Drama Performance” in December 2013; “Exchange Program Between Secondary School Students in Hong Kong and Guangdong Province” in April 2014; “Youth Ambassadors Short Video Workshop 2014” in April 2014; “Youth Ambassadors Photography Workshop 2014” in April 2014; “ ‘Ambition ‧ Fantasy’ Film Show” in April 2014; “2014 Piracy & Malware Liberal Studies IES Competition” in April 2014, “Youth Ambassadors Short Video Shooting Tour 2014” in July 2014 and “Youth Ambassadors Visit to Customs and Excise Training School” in August 2014.

Members also actively discussed and confirmed the upcoming IPRPA activities and related expenditures for year 2015.

A tea reception for IPRPA members was held at the Customs & Excise Service Senior Officers’ Mess after the meeting.
