IPRPA Annual General Meeting 2011

The IPRPA Annual General Meeting 2011 was held at the Customs Headquarters Building on 5 May 2011. Mr. Y K Tam, Assistant Commissioner (Intelligence and Investigation), Mr. Albert Ho, Head of Intellectual Property Investigation Bureau, Mr. Sam Ho, Vice-chair (Activities) and Ms Andrea Fong, Vice-chair (General & Publicity) chaired the meeting. A total of 54 IPRPA members, representing 41 member organizations, attended the meeting.
In the meeting, Mr. Albert Ho reviewed the Customs enforcement achievements in 2010 and recapitulated IPRPA activities held last year such as various seminars co-organized between Hong Kong Customs and IPR owners for members and Customs officers, Youth Ambassador winners’ study tour to Japan, the launch of “Protection of Intellectual Property Rights on the Internet Competition”, etc. The meeting also discussed the future development of IPRPA and upcoming seminars / training sessions in 2011.
Following the meeting was a cocktail reception at the Customs & Excise Service Senior Officers’ Mess with the honorable presence of Mr. Wong Ho Yuen, Andrew, JP, Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development (Commerce, Industry & Tourism), and Mr. Richard Yuen, Commissioner of Customs and Excise.
