Visit by Bailiffs
Date: 20/05/2006
A delegation of round 30 Court Bailiffs visited the Chaiwan Seizure Centre of the Intellectual Property Investigation Bureau on 29 April 2006 and 6 May 2006. During the course of their duties, Bailiffs may come across copyright and trademark infringing items, such as among distrained properties. In this connection, the visit was arranged so that Customs Officers and Bailiffs could share experience and foster closer cooperation in the future.
During the visit, we introduced the recordation formalities in relation to IPR cases, seizure identification procedures as well as seizure handling in field. Two copyright and trademark owners, namely, Sony Computer Entertainment Incorporation and Louis Vuitton also presented the latest identification features of their products. Moreover, some questions from Bailiffs about Hong Kong’s intellectual property right laws were resolved. The delegation toured around our Seizure Identification Workshop at the end of the visit.
